The summit of Mount Everest is the highest point on
Earth, at 8,848m above sea level. Named after Sir George
Everest, the British surveyor-general of India, Everest
is known in Tibet as Chomolungma while the Nepalese call
it Sagarmatha. Mount Everest is located in Nepal-Tibet
border. The famous first successful accent of the
mountain was done by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing
Norgay Sherpa in 1953. Our expedition follows the
classic route pioneered by these two famous climbers
beginning from the south, Nepal Base camp, we will
approach the summit via 4 camps. The highest being camp
4 at 7,920 m from where we will start our summit bid. |
