This fly in drive out 12 day tour of Tibet takes in the sights along the spectacular route between Kathmandu and Lhasa including Mt. Everest North Base Camp and Rongbuk Monastery. The base camp offers one of the best views in the world (accessible to non-climbers) of the highest mountain in the world. The massive North Face of Everest dominates the valley behind Rongbuk Monastery. Cultrual sights along the way include Shigatse, home of the famous Tashilunpo Monastery and seat of the Panchen Lama, also the beautiful Tibetan town of Gyantse. In Lhasa we will visit the Potala Palace, Jokang Temple, as well as important monasteries of Dreprung and Sera. This tour covers most of the cultural highlights of Tibet while also passing through the incredible Tibetan landscape and visiting Mount Everest Base Camp in a Lhasa to Kathmandu overland adventure that will truly be a journey of a lifetime.

Drive to Gyantse via Lake Yamdrok Tso. Overnight Hotel Gyantse.

Visit Khumbum Stupa & Phalkor Monastery at Gyantse. Proceed to Shigatse to visit the Tashilunpo Monastery & the free market. Overnight at Hotel Shigatse / Everest friendship..
Day 8
Drive to Tingri. Overnight at Hotel Everest view.

Drive to Rongbuk. Overnight at Lodge.
