This fly in drive out 12 day tour of Tibet takes in the sights along the spectacular route between Kathmandu and Lhasa including Mt. Everest North Base Camp and Rongbuk Monastery. The base camp offers one of the best views in the world (accessible to non-climbers) of the highest mountain in the world. The massive North Face of Everest dominates the valley behind Rongbuk Monastery. Cultrual sights along the way include Shigatse, home of the famous Tashilunpo Monastery and seat of the Panchen Lama, also the beautiful Tibetan town of Gyantse. In Lhasa we will visit the Potala Palace, Jokang Temple, as well as important monasteries of Dreprung and Sera. This tour covers most of the cultural highlights of Tibet while also passing through the incredible Tibetan landscape and visiting Mount Everest Base Camp in a Lhasa to Kathmandu overland adventure that will truly be a journey of a lifetime.

ZHANGMU-XEGAR(4350M.) – 244kms.
Drive to Xegar crossing NYALAMU PASS(3800m.) & LALUNG LA PASS (5050m.). This drive offers fantastic view of the high mountains including Everes (8848m.).O/nt at Hotel Xegar.

XEGAR-SHIGATSE(3900M.)-244kms.
Drive (Approx 8hrs) to Shigatse. Shigatse has the famous Tashilunpo Monastery and the seat of Panchen Lama. O/nt at Hotel Xigatse.

Day 6 TUESDAY
XIGATSE-GYANTSE(3900M.) – 90kms.
In the morning visit Tashilunpo Monastery and the free market of Xigatse. In the afternoon drive to Gyantse and visit Phalkor Monastery and Khumbum Stupa. O/nt at Hotel Gyantse..

Day 7 WEDNESDAY
GYANTSE-LHASA (3650m.). 259Kms.
The drive to Lhasa takes 08 hours, crossing two passes – THE KAROLA (5010M.) and KAMBA LA (4794M.) via Yamdrok Tso lake. O/nt in Lhasa.
