This tour visits many of the highlights of Tibet both cultural and natuaral, including Lhasa, Gyantse, Shigatse, Yarlung Tsangpo Valley, and Mt. Everest Base Camp. 

The people in Tibet are deeply religious that at least a basic understanding of Buddhism is essential to making any sense of their world. Buddhism permeates most facets of Tibetan daily life and shapes the aspirations of Tibetans in ways that are often quite alien to the western frame of mind. The idea of accumulating merit, of sending sons to be monks, of undertaking pilgrimages, of devotion to the sanctity and power of natural places are all elements of the unique fusion between Buddhism and the older shamanistic Bon faith.

Day 4 Drive to Nyalam

 

Day 5 Rest and acclimatization day in Nyalam.

Day 8 Drive to Xegar

Day 10 Visit Sakya Gompa, drive to Shigatse

Day 16 Drive to Tsetang - On route - Visit Mindroling Monastery

 

Day 17 Explore Yarlung Tsangpo valley, the cradle of Tibetan Civilization and Samye Monastery - overnight in Tsetang

 

Day 18 Drive back to Lhasa and free day

 

Day 19 Flight back to Kathmandu.

 

Day 20 Free day and shopping in Kathmandu, hotel
